Ecobiz.asia — Space Intelligence, a UK-based forest data and analytics company, said it aims to accelerate Indonesia’s carbon market by supplying high-resolution land-use data and digital tools to speed up project screening, due diligence and monitoring.

Speaking at the Global Carbon Summit Indonesia 2025 hosted by Ecobiz Asia on Nov. 26–27, CEO and co-founder Murray Collins said the company has mapped 189 million hectares of Indonesia across seven time periods between 2014 and 2025, producing land-cover datasets used by project developers and governments worldwide.

“We provide the data, technology and services to help plan, develop and report on forest conservation and restoration initiatives,” Collins said, calling Indonesia “the world’s most promising market for nature-based carbon capture and storage.”

Space Intelligence, the official activity data provider for VM0048 under Verra VCS methodology, estimates Indonesia could generate about 300 million tonnes of CO₂e per year through nature-based solutions, supported by up to 130 million hectares of suitable land. Its analysis suggests the potential for more than 880 REDD, ARR, IFM and mangrove projects nationwide.

CEO and co-founder of Space Intelligence, Murray Collins, delivers his presentation at the Global Carbon Summit Indonesia 2025 hosted by Ecobiz Asia on Nov. 26–27, 2025.

Space Intelligence’s new screening tool allows users to upload a potential project area to instantly calculate its carbon credit potential, detect overlaps with existing projects, and assess historical deforestation.

The company released a free report summarizing Indonesia’s decadal land-cover change during the summit and is preparing an Indonesian-language version.

Collins said project developers and investors increasingly rely on fast, accurate site assessments. Space Intelligence’s new screening tool allows users to click on a map or upload a polygon to instantly calculate carbon credit potential, detect overlaps with existing projects, and assess historical deforestation.

He said the firm aims to cut screening from “weeks of manual checking” to minutes, and to reduce uncertainty during due diligence with data on flood and fire risks, leakage and permanence.

Its monitoring platform also tracks forest degradation with high-frequency satellite analyses—an area Collins described as “critical and notoriously difficult” for project verification.

Space Intelligence offers three pathways for engagement: data licensing, SaaS subscriptions to its screening tool, and contracted services for due diligence and monitoring. ***
