Ecobiz.asia – Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment on Monday (August 25, 2025) rolled out the latest version of its National Registry System on Climate Change Control (SRN PPI), a digital platform designed to improve transparency in climate action and underpin the country’s carbon market.
Ary Sudijanto, Deputy for Climate Change Control and Carbon Economic Value Governance, said the upgraded system is critical to building trust in Indonesia’s climate agenda.
“This is not just a technical update. The new SRN PPI ensures every action and contribution is recorded, verified and traceable. It reflects Indonesia’s commitment to climate governance that is accountable and of high integrity,” Ary told reporters at the launch event.
The upgraded platform features clearer data visualisation, streamlined verification procedures and enhanced tracking of Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets.
It also strengthens data security and interoperability with other national systems, while making reporting more user-friendly.
Indonesia has pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 31.89% with its own resources, and up to 43.20% with international support, as set out in its Enhanced NDC 2022. The long-term goal is to reach net-zero emissions by 2060 or earlier.
The event also highlighted the country’s Indonesia Emission Reduction Certificate (SPEI) mechanism, mandated by Presidential Regulation No. 98/2021. The scheme is expected to ensure consistency and transparency in implementing the carbon economic value (NEK) framework and help establish a high-integrity carbon market. ***
