CTX Launches Corporate One With Flat Fees for Institutional Carbon Trading

Ecobiz.asia – Carbon Trade eXchange (CTX) has launched Corporate One, an invitation-only account designed for large international carbon project developers, corporate offtake brokers, institutional traders, banks and corporations trading high-quality carbon credits at scale.

The new account is aimed at organizations typically trading credits priced at more than US$10 per tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), according to CTX in a statement issued Sept. 23, 2026.

Corporate One replaces CTX’s standard percentage-based trading commissions and annual account fee with a flat fee of US$0.10 per credit per side. The account also carries no account-opening fee and no minimum balance.

Under CTX’s standard membership model, buyers pay a 2% commission and sellers 5% of trade value, in addition to an annual account fee.
CTX said Corporate One is the first time in its 18-year history that it has waived its account-opening fee and moved away from percentage-based commissions.

The account is designed for institutional-scale trading rather than high-frequency, small-ticket transactions, allowing buyers and sellers to use a fixed trading cost regardless of movements in credit prices.

Designed for Institutional Trading
Corporate One members can trade and settle transactions on CTX’s platform on a 24/7/365 basis under its Continuous Trading Contract, with trades settled on a T+0 basis and processed electronically.

Members can buy credits for transfer or retirement without maintaining their own registry accounts. CTX said transfer and retirement fees have also been simplified, with a one-time charge applying to Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) credits, while no transfer or retirement fees apply to credits from Gold Standard, Global Carbon Registry, BioCarbon Standard, Universal Carbon Registry (UCR) and UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

Transactions also include live foreign-exchange rates streamed through Westpac Bank, an instant invoice and statement, and information on project co-benefits.

Corporate One members will retain access to millions of credits listed on CTX, covering different project types, vintages and price points.
For new large-scale listings in the fourth quarter, CTX has also waived delisting fees until the second quarter of 2027, although applicable VCS fees remain in place.

Invitation-Based Access
Corporate One is not available for self-service registration. CTX is extending invitations directly to organizations that meet the account’s target profile.

Organizations accepting an invitation by Oct. 31 can also nominate up to three major buyers or suppliers per quarter for their own free Corporate One accounts, up to 12 strategic counterparties per year.

“We’ve never gone to zero on our account fee, and we’ve never dropped a percentage commission for our biggest members, until now,” said Wayne Sharpe, CEO and founder of CTX.

“Corporate One is built for real institutional volume in high-quality credits, priced the way a market this size should be priced: flat fees, no upfront cost and simple, and it puts more of the money from every trade back in the hands of the project developers actually doing the work,” Sharpe said.

He added that CTX’s in-house trading desk would support members with sourcing high-quality credits and building carbon credit portfolios.

CTX’s 18-Year Track Record

Corporate One is being launched on CTX’s existing trading platform, which the company said has operated continuously for more than 18 years without a trade default.

CTX said it has cleared more than 1 billion tonnes of CO2e offsets and currently lists more than 320 projects across more than 40 countries. The projects cover standards and registries including Verra VCS and Plastics Recycling, Gold Standard, Global Carbon Registry, BioCarbon Standard, UCR and UNFCCC CDM Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).

CTX said it is the only exchange publicly named as a trading partner on the UNFCCC website for CDM CERs, a relationship that has been in place since 2017.

The company said organizations seeking an invitation to Corporate One can contact its Corporate One team or apply through the CTX website. ***
