Sugiono said the 2+2 format, which Indonesia holds only with selected strategic partners, reflects long-term trust and commitment to closer bilateral ties.

“Indonesia convenes the 2+2 dialogue with only a limited number of partners, underscoring the depth of our strategic relationship with Turkey,” Sugiono said.

The talks covered priority areas including defence cooperation, trade, investment and energy, with both sides highlighting the importance of accelerating cooperation in sustainable sectors such as clean energy, mining downstream industries, petrochemicals and the development of electric vehicle ecosystems.
