Ecobiz.asia – Nusantara Climate Initiative (NCI), in collaboration with PT Inovasi Infini Asia (Infini Asia), has officially launched the Forest Integrated System for Transparency (FIST) Version 1.0, a digital platform designed to improve how data from Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects is managed, integrated and used for decision-making.
The platform was launched and handed over to NCI in Bogor on Wednesday (Sept. 16, 2026), marking the completion of the first phase of FIST’s development.
FIST was developed to address a practical challenge in NbS projects: managing field, geospatial, thematic and operational data generated across different locations and workstreams in a more consistent and connected way.
NCI Vice President of Climate Strategy Clarissa Rusli said FIST is expected to provide more structured and traceable information while improving coordination and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
“For NCI, FIST’s strategic value lies in creating more structured and traceable information, improving coordination, and supporting more evidence-based decisions,” Rusli said in a statement posted on NCI’s official social media account on Friday (Sept. 18, 2026).
“Today, we are not only receiving a platform; we are also taking on the responsibility to ensure that it is used, maintained, and continuously developed,” she added.
The first phase also included a review of the platform’s development process and the formal transfer of system ownership, technical documentation, access rights and operational knowledge to NCI.
The development of FIST followed an iterative process involving testing, training and feedback from technical experts and field users. Continuous improvement of the platform will include regular data cleaning, technical reviews, feedback mechanisms and security enhancements.
FIST serves as a foundation connecting field information with monitoring, reporting and decision-making dashboards. Its long-term value will depend on disciplined data management, consistent user adoption, clear ownership, system maintenance and continuous improvement based on organizational needs.
Mukhammad Thoha Zulkarnain, NCI’s Head of Impact and Strategic Assurance, said the platform provides field teams, technical teams and management with a common reference for coordination and decision-making.
“FIST gives field teams, technical teams, and management a more consistent reference for coordination and decision-making. It helps ensure that data is not merely collected, but can be meaningfully used,” he said.
Infini Asia CEO Mohammad Agus Salim said FIST integrates data, tools and workflows into a single ecosystem to support monitoring, transparency and operational decision-making across NCI.
