Ecobiz.asia — PT PLN Indonesia Power has appointed DevvStream Corp. as the exclusive partner for managing carbon credits generated from its solar power portfolio in Indonesia.

Under a definitive agreement announced on Thursday (May 7, 2026), DevvStream secured exclusive rights to manage and own carbon credits generated from the operations of PLN Indonesia Power’s solar power plants.

DevvStream Chief Executive Officer Sunny Trinh said the partnership strengthens the company’s position in environmental asset development across Asia.

“PLN Indonesia Power is one of the leading power operators in one of the world’s most important energy markets. This agreement positions DevvStream as the exclusive partner in the creation and monetization of environmental assets from the identified solar portfolio,” he said.

According to Trinh, the agreement reflects growing market demand for high-integrity carbon credits that can be monetized globally.

Under the partnership, DevvStream will oversee the entire carbon credit development process, including validation, certification, registration, custody, security, and monetization. Revenue generated from carbon credit sales will be shared between the two parties.

PLN Indonesia Power currently manages around 22.1 GW of power generation capacity across Indonesia. In the initial phase, the two companies have identified a portfolio of 45 solar power plants to be included in the carbon credit development scheme.

The collaboration aligns with Indonesia’s broader energy transition agenda, which targets up to 100 GW of solar power capacity nationwide.

DevvStream’s Head of APAC Scott Harrington said the revenue-sharing model enables environmental asset monetization without requiring upfront infrastructure investment from DevvStream.

“This agreement creates a scalable pathway for monetizing high-quality environmental assets while supporting PLN Indonesia Power’s long-term decarbonization targets,” he said.

Meanwhile, PLN Indonesia Power President Director Bernadus Sudarmanta said solar power development is part of the company’s strategy to expand access to clean energy while strengthening national energy security.

He added that PLN Indonesia Power had applied a rigorous selection process in choosing international partners for environmental asset monetization.

“DevvStream’s capabilities in validation, certification, registration, and secure environmental asset management convinced us to support the monetization of verifiable environmental outcomes across our generation portfolio,” he said. ***
