Ecobiz.asia — Indonesia’s PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT), a unit of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk, has met all assessment criteria under The Copper Mark assurance framework for its Batu Hijau mine in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, the company said on Thursday (Nov. 20, 2025)
The achievement positions AMMAN among global copper producers that apply internationally recognised environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards across their operations.
The Copper Mark is an assurance system developed for the copper industry to evaluate responsible production practices along the supply chain and their alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
AMNT President Director Rachmat Makkasau said the certification reaffirms the company’s commitment to sustainability.
“We continue to apply responsible practices across our operations in Batu Hijau, from environmental management and respect for human rights to legal compliance and community development. The Copper Mark recognition provides an independent validation of these commitments,” he said.
AMNT’s Head of ESG Richard Fischer said the company has strengthened its sustainability systems since signing a Letter of Commitment with The Copper Mark two years ago.
AMNT has since worked to improve performance across 32 assessment criteria. “We appreciate the comprehensive guidance from The Copper Mark in helping us meet high ESG standards,” he said. ***
