Ecobiz.asia — PT Sumber Energi Surya Nusantara (SESMO) has commenced construction of a 262 MWp solar power plant at the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) in Central Sulawesi, with an investment value of around US$210 million.

The project is backed by a financing syndication led by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) as bookrunner, which structured the financing and coordinated participating financial institutions.

The solar facility will be equipped with a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 80 MWh to ensure reliable clean power supply for energy-intensive industries within the IMIP complex.

SESMO President Director Rico Syah Alam said the start of construction reflects the project’s readiness from both technical and financial standpoints.
