Ecobiz.asia – Forty carbon projects from 20 Indonesian companies will offer a total of 90.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) in credits at the Indonesia Pavilion during the COP30 UNFCCC Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, from November 10–21, 2025.
Laksmi Widyajayanti, Senior Advisor for Food, Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Quality to the Minister of Environment, who also leads the Indonesia Pavilion, said the offering will take place during a Seller Meet Buyer session. The list of participating projects, she noted, is still preliminary as of October 28.
“There may be additions in the coming days as updates are still being finalized by the Ministry of Forestry,” Laksmi said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Wednesday (Oct. 29, 2025).
The carbon credits include both Indonesia’s Emission Reduction Certificates (SPE-GRK) and other recognized standards compliant with Indonesia’s carbon trading framework.
Laksmi detailed that 11 projects have been certified with a total of 11.41 million tonnes of CO₂e, 15 projects are in the certification process with 5.06 million tonnes, and 14 others remain at the Project Information Note (PIN) stage, representing 73.62 million tonnes of CO₂e.
Of the 40 projects, 21 are from the energy sector, eight from Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU), and 11 from waste management.
Among them are the Sei Mangkei Biogas Power Plant (PLTBg) developed by Pertamina, the Pulang Pisang Preserve by Carbon Ethics, and the Sumba Landscape Reforestation Project by Reforest’Action.
Laksmi said several projects have already reached preliminary transaction agreements, though the Indonesia Pavilion remains open to new potential buyers seeking information and expressing interest.
Three transaction mechanisms will be available: (1) direct transactions during the Seller Meet Buyer sessions for issued credits, (2) agreements through Letters of Agreement (LoA) specifying future transaction timelines, and (3) expressions of interest via Letters of Intent (LoI) between project developers and buyers.
Yulia Suryanti, Head of the Public Relations Bureau at the Ministry of Environment and coordinator of the Seller Meet Buyer sessions, said this will be the first time such sessions are held at an Indonesian Pavilion during a COP event.
“We will host a one-hour Seller Meet Buyer session daily during prime time, when most international delegates are present,” Yulia said. ***
