Under the agreement, BIOCert Indonesia will continue handling domestic certification schemes, including Indonesia’s national standard (SNI) and Starbucks C.A.F.E. Practices, while Ecocert will provide certification for international standards such as EU Organic, the U.S. National Organic Program (NOP) and Japan’s JAS.

The partnership is designed to streamline certification processes for Indonesian farmers and agribusinesses by combining local regulatory expertise with global sustainability standards, the companies said in a joint statement.

“This collaboration strengthens the capacity of Indonesian producers to meet internationally recognised standards while remaining compliant with domestic requirements,” BIOCert Indonesia said in a statement on Sunday (Feb. 22, 2026).

Ecocert said the partnership would help Indonesian producers access global markets amid growing demand for certified organic and sustainably produced agricultural goods.

The initiative comes as Indonesia seeks to scale up sustainable agriculture practices and improve competitiveness in export markets, particularly for high-value organic commodities.

Ecocert operates in more than 130 countries and provides certification for organic and sustainability standards worldwide, while BIOCert Indonesia focuses on inspection and certification services for both domestic and international schemes. ***
